New catalogue “Jonas Rimša. Call of Tropics“

In the summer of 2010 the retrospective exhibition of Jonas Rimša (1903–1978) “Call of Tropics: Argentina-Bolivia-Tahiti“ was opened at Vilnius Picture Gallery. The retrospective exhibition, encompassing his entire life, reflected the creative road of the artist and was presented in Lithuania for the first time. After the exposition the catalogue “Jonas. Rimša. Call of Tropics“, compiled by the exhibition moderator Dr. Nijolė Tumenienė, was released. This book is the first serious and elaborate analysis of John Rimša‘s life and work in Lithuania. The release of the catalogue “Jonas. Rimša. Call of Tropics“ was sponsored by Lithuanian Expatriate Art Foundation.
